Seattle Met Bride and Groom Magazine Shoot | Purple and Green Wedding | Thompson Hotel Seattle | Seattle Wedding Planner
When we got the email asking if we were interested in doing a styled shoot, we jumped at the chance! Now, for those of you that know us, you know we don't do styled shoots very often. So why was this one different? First, it was featuring one of Seattle's newest wedding venues, The Thompson Hotel's rooftop bar and restaurant, The Nest. Secondly, it was going to be a feature within the magazine of three different planners take on the same space. And lastly, it was a way for us to feature one of 2017's biggest trends; the return of color. We collaborated with some of our favorite vendors (see full list below) to make the vision come to life! And well, we're pretty proud of how it turned out.
We didn't want to detract from the natural beauty of this venue. With it's sweeping views of the Puget Sound, we kept the design natural, yet still stylish, trendy, and modern to match the venues feel. The dark slate place settings popped off the table against the copper placemats. The clean, modern lines were softened by hand-dyed napkins and calligraphy menus.
The rest of the tablescape was loaded with charm, modern elements and stunning florals. From the hand-dyed table runner to the copper and wood elements to the elevated centerpieces, this was one of our favorite designs ever! Elevating the centerpieces allowed the space to do another wedding trend- individual cakes as part of your centerpiece design. Allowing guests to self-serve their wedding cakes is a super fun way to have them enjoy several different flavors while enhancing your table top design.
One of the key elements the magazine wanted us to feature was ideas for favors. We figured since we live in Seattle and we were featuring a rooftop venue, we incorporated two perfect favors- a bag of coffee for everyone and shawls for the ladies.
And lastly, how could we not swoon over these hand-painted copper and teal wedding invitations complete with custom calligraphy? WOW!
We could not have been more thrilled with how this shoot turned out, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Happy Planning! ~Rebecca
