Stephanie and Erik | Ko'olau Ballrooms | O'ahu Hawai'i

When a couple from Seattle calls you up and say they want to plan a destination wedding to Oahu, Hawaii, you tend to get a little excited.  Oahu was my home for almost 5 years and where I learned how to plan weddings.  I was thrilled that Stephanie and Erik found me by looking for a wedding planner who lived in Seattle and had experience planning Hawaiian weddings.

With both the couple and me living locally here in Seattle, we were able to meet face-to-face for multiple planning and design meetings leading up to their Oahu wedding day.  When we needed to interview and book vendors, we'd meet for Skype sessions to talk with and narrow down their vendor team on-island to help make their day a success.

Selecting a very unique theme of "Indiana Jones meets Travel" with other unique characteristics of them thrown in here and there (i.e. Godzilla eating the Space Needle Wedding Cake), we decided on a color palette of purple, yellow, green and white to tie into the beautiful Ko'olau Mountains natural backdrop.  The rest of the decor was kept woodsy and natural with moss, lanterns, and loose flower arrangements.  Stephanie got her creative juices going with custom-made headpieces for herself and all of her bridesmaids as well.  The table names were all locations they had traveled to mounted to cute little globes the guests got to take home as wedding favors.

The night wrapped up with a cutting of the best wedding cake ever (that we had shipped in from SEATTLE!!), a hula performance, and dancing the night away.  What a fun wedding, awesome couple, and so great to be able to be back on Oahu!
